Thanks to everyone who helped with baking and tearoom assistance at the recent Christmas Card coffee
The Museum has had a very busy and interesting week, with P7 pupils
from WK School, who enthusiastically took part in being Victorian Children and Servants for a morning, working hard at labour
intensive household tasks, like polishing brass, washing clothes with a wash board, weighing vegetables, and copperplate handwriting
The jellies and soda bread were a great success, and a welcome respite from all the hard work. The children learned about
old West Kilbride, and how much conditions have changed over the years. Special thanks to Ailsa Wardrop for masterminding
this wonderful experience, and to Mrs Jane Young who brought her spinning wheel and loom, and let the children try their hand
at spinning and weaving.
